Reverse geocoding with Tableau Prep, Python and Google Geocoding API

  1. The first step was to get an API key from GCP — Google Cloud Platform, as per these instructions.
pip3 install pygeocoder
list_new_data = []
for row in df.index:  
...
< do some stuff in this row, e.g. create your new datapoint >
...
#add this new data point to the list
list_new_data.append(my_new_datapoint)
df['My_New_Column'] = list_new_data
